Exigent and Deloitte South Africa are evolving by partnering to deliver a premium full-service eDiscovery product to clients globally.
The partnership will provide a “one stop” solution for law firms, corporations and institutions seeking eDiscovery and Data Management Services which will ease the cost and time burden markedly.
Law firms and corporations are increasingly outsourcing large document review projects for litigation disclosure or transactional due diligence to external organizations, which can carry out the review at a lower cost.
“We see this partnership as an enhancement to our eDiscovery data processing and hosting capabilities providing an end-to-end solution whereby Exigent’s legal process outsourcing expertise in document review will complete the cycle” says Clayton Thomopoulos, Deloitte Director: Risk Advisory Southern Africa.
“Organizations need to apply forensic practices to collect, preserve, and process data required for the discovery process or potential use as evidence in legal proceedings,’’ he says.
An entire business dispute, commercial investigation, or multi-million-rand litigation may hinge on identifying when a single piece of data was communicated, generated, altered or deleted, by and to whom, and under what circumstances.
Waseema Harrison, Senior Manager at Deloitte, adds, “Having worked with Exigent over the years on many legal cases I am excited about this formalized joint venture whereby our skills and expertise, backed by our best-of-breed software, Ipro, Nuix and Relativity, are enhanced by Exigent’s review offering”.
Exigent’s delivery model is founded on the principles of effective people, processes, and platforms. Now, Exigent’s expert eDiscovery and Data Management teams with tried and tested project methodologies will be supported by Deloitte’s Managed Solutions team hosting Nuix and Relativity.
“The addition of Deloitte’s extensive experience in eDiscovery and Data Management will enhance our services. We recognize the importance of an end-to-end litigation support solution for our clients and this strategic partnership enables us to deliver on this need. This unique capability wraps up quality, efficiency, consistency, and the comfort that our clients’ projects are in the expert hands of two leading eDiscovery and Data Management providers”, says David Holme, Exigent CEO.
