Two document specialists tell us what they like about their work in legal services
Patricia told us: “The role of a document specialist isn’t as monotonous as you may think. The requests we get are a kind of present. You never know what it is until it’s unwrapped.
At any one time, we can be working on multiple projects and they can each be different. Yesterday, I completed a transcription of a long recording of a meeting and then completed a PowerPoint presentation.
I learn something new every day. When I provide database support, I love researching information and putting together ‘taxi packs’ for our clients. I didn’t know what this was, the first time I heard the phrase but it’s for clients pitching for new work. I have to pull together information to give them an overview of the new client. I get to find out about specific companies I wouldn’t ordinarily know about. Sometimes, I work on quite complex case files and may find myself digging into medical dictionaries for correct terminology.”
Our young Daniel said: “When I first started, I thought I would feel very distant from the clients and never get to speak to them. But now that I’m actually working, it’s not like that at all. I talk directly with clients and if I have a query, I phone them. I’m really pleased when they take the trouble to rate my work because it makes me feel even more confident of what I do. When clients visit our offices, it’s great because we get to know them and hear what their working lives are like and how we could help them for the better.”
At Exigent, we value not only our clients, but our staff too; old and new alike. It’s about the right combination so we hand pick our staff for your projects. Despite it being the shortest day of the year for the northern hemisphere, all our turtle doves worldwide are working hard to complete your urgent tasks.
